Yr 7 Basketball County Final, 18th March 2010

Four schools from County Durham gathered together to decide who would prevail as County Champions, with Durham Johnston defending their title as last years winners. After a round of pool games, St. Johns RCVA and Park View were up against each other in the 3rd/4th place play off where Park View proved the stronger of the two teams. There was a nail biting finish in the final, where after finishing normal time as a tie, a golden basket in overtime from Durham Johnston sealed the result as they managed to overcome a stubborn and hard working St. Bedes team in a very close game. Congratulations to Durham Johnston for retaining the Durham County Winners crown. The competition was supported by Zoe Vickers (Basketball Development Officer) and coaches from the Wildcats Basketball Club Lee Davey and Joe Riley who refereed the games. A big thank you also to Ferryhill LC and their staff for hosting the event.
