Quicksticks Hockey Festival, 8th March 2010

Teesdale >>

The action lived upto its name at the first ever SSP Quicksticks Hockey event held at Parkside Sports College, six schools had their first taste of this format of the game. With a Competition Pool for more able pupils with experience of Hockey and a Festival Pool for the beginners with coaching in between games. Even so, the standard in both was very good and the children enjoyed a glorious day to compete outside in a new sport. Both Pools results were very close by the end of the morning with Cockfield B team coming out on top in the Festival Pool and Startforth remaining unbeaten to secure top spot in the Competition Pool. The event was supported by leaders from Parkside Sports College and Lynne Dobison (Hockey Development Officer) who provided equipment for the schools.
Well done to all participating schools for a thoroughly enjoyable morning of Hockey.
