The outcomes of the Young Ambassador Programme:
- To develop and support young people as role models and Ambassadors inspired by the 2012 Games for other young people
- To promote and advocate the ethos and values of the Olympic and Paralympic movement amongst young people
- For young people to champion PE & school sport within schools and local communities and increase participation

An existing Ambassador is selected from the previous years Gold Ambassadors to stay on as a Platinum Ambassador to continue to be a role model and provide assistance and guidance to the new Young Ambassadors.
In addition to the existing SSP level Platinum and Gold Young Ambassadors, next Academic Year (2010-2011) sees the introductions of a new tier of Silver adiStars Young Ambassadors. There will be two Silver adiStars Young Ambassadors in every secondary school.
